The Land of the Morning Calm

Some background on the title of my blog:
In the 14th century A.D., Chinese Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty decreed that Korea be known by its ancient name of 'Chaohsien' meaning "morning freshness" or "morning calm” . The title was most suited to South Korea because of its natural beauty of picturesque high mountains and clear waters and its splendid tranquillity, particularly in the morning. To this day, Korea is still known as the "Land of the Morning Calm."
